"How XML Could Have Averted The Recession" is the name of the presentation I am giving at this year's XML Summer School in Oxford (UK), 20-25 September 2009. The title is a bit whimsical; I'm not claiming to know how we actually could have avoided the recent financial crash, but I will be discussing how open standards, open data and timely disclosure might have helped us avert the recent failure, and how it might help us avert future failures.
This will be the 5th XML Summer School I've presented at. You won't find a better set of presenters anywhere in the world, if XML and related technologies are your interest. The Summer School is small enough that you can get to meet all of the presenters socially during the week, and the presenters keep coming back year after year because we all enjoy the fun we have together socially.
So, if you can come, you will be very welcome, and I hope to see some of you there. If you can make it, you won't regret it.
