One retrograde thing I have found in updating my laptop from SUSE Linux 10.1 to openSUSE 10.2 is that hibernation fails completely. Previously the only problem (but a big enough problem) was that when I brought my laptop out of hibernation, the touchpad wouldn't work. Now it just falls over while trying to persist the memory to disk.
It's pretty disappointing. SUSE is usually better than that with laptops. I'm getting very close to ditching it and giving Ubuntu a go.
